Love Stimulus Tour
The Punany Poets’ “The Love Stimulus Tour” takes stages across the United States with bold theatrical intelligence in 2011. As Seen on HBO Real Sex, Playboy Television, BET and Cinemax, Jessica Holter’s The Punany Poets, present “The Love Stimulus Tour”, an ensemble of innovation, sensuality and versatility replete with poetry, theatrics, comedy and dance that lay on a bed of an eclectic musical score produced by some of the San Francisco/Bay Area’s most acclaimed musical talents, including Dwayne Wiggins of Tony Toni Tone and Denny Foster of En Vogue production team Thomas McElroy.
The controversial Punany brand celebrates it’s 10 year anniversary since it’s television debut with a bold and exciting expansion. Jessica Holter, author of The Punany Experience: The War Between Tops and Bottoms and Verbal Penetration (Strebor/Simon & Schuster), has created what fans are hailing to be the year’s most anticipated production, “The Love Stimulus Tour”, featuring three unique performances by The Punany Poets in more than 15 cities.

Synopsis: Jessica Holter’s, The Punany Poets deliver a complete and interactive Sex Education theater performance of lush literary works. Serving the world community with sexual health and HIV/AIDS awareness through theatrical productions. The Love Stimulus Tour brews fantasy and pleasure while exploring human sexuality, touching on issues of romance, dating, marriage and sex in the age of HIV/AIDS. The Punany Poets have unique brand of entertainment, which combines elements of Poetry, Dance, comedy and theatrics with been compared to Theater of the Oppressed by scholars. In her dissertation ‘Representin’ the forbidden’: The Punany Poets, black female sexuality, and HIV and performance Monroe, Raquel LaMara, PhD, (UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, LOS ANGELES) writes “Through erotic poetry, dance, and song the Punany Poets incite a dialogue on black female sexuality that can buttress public health HIV interventions. Their performance style intersects hip-hop, the blues, and the aesthetics of the Black Power Movement, but ultimately perform what I call Urban Erotic Activist Theatre or U EAT. As U EAT artists they articulate the aesthetics of African Americans living in the margins of African American communities. The Punany Project demonstrates the potential for collaborations between artists and public health theorists and practitioners in the implementation and design of HIV interventions.”
